  1. Don’t think much of the song, though it would help if the puir lass could actually sing. Someone in the YouTube comments says this is better than the original, so I really dread to think what that was like. Anyway, just to thank you for the translation, I can figure out most of the Irish but there always seems to be one word per line that baffles me unaided. I can see how this sort of thing is a fun exercise, although to my mind the words are fairly empty. Why bother to translate trash like this when there are so many Irish songs out there due for a revival? At least they have tunes — lol! Or better still compose something that’s both Irish and new. Right, I’m out of here before the bottles begin to fly …
